The week previously, customary dishes from India, Ireland and Italy were cooked up by the boys at school. Mouth watering samoosas, baked potatoes and pizzas circulated the school. The boys are to be congratulated on their cooking abilities. There will be many young contenders for “Master Chef” after this! A BIG thank-you goes to our wonderful parents as well for embracing these projects and for encouraging their sons every step of the way.

  GRADE 2 DRESS – UP DAY 2011

Grade 2 learners came dressed up in a fashion on Friday 5th August. Each class has been studying a country that begins with an “I”. Mrs Ramjas’ class dressed up as Indians from India, Mrs Viljoen’s class came dressed up as Irish folk and Miss Dawson’s class were proud Italians from Italy. The boys and parents were very creative that day and much fun was had by all.

JOHN FOOTE
HEADMASTER

I would like to welcome you to our website. King Edward VII Preparatory School is one of only two public monastic schools in Johannesburg and we are very proud of our 101 years of tradition. To my mind, we are a true "Rainbow Nation" school. We offer an extensive extra mural and cultural programme, whilst striving to maintain high Academic standards. It is a tough and competitive environment and we cater for boys from Grade 0 to Grade 7, with the option of continuing right up to Grade 12 at King Edward VII High School. If one is to raise a son in South Africa, King Edward's provides the perfect setting in which to learn respect and tolerance for all religious and cultural groups. This will stand your son in good stead for the future.

I hope that this website will prove to be of benefit to the learners and parents at our school who wish to check on the dates of events and fixtures as well as to our Old Boys who wish to keep track of what is happening at King Edward's. Prospective parents should find this site useful in determining what King Edward VII Preparatory School is all about.
