    1. School Productions and Inter-house plays
    1. String Ensemble

Boys are encouraged to participate in these activities to assist them in becoming confident, well- rounded individuals. Full and team colours are awarded to boys in Grades 6 and 7 who excel in some or all the activities offered.

Our major production in 2017 will take place at The Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg on 21st September. It will be a tribute to Broadway and will include every single boy and staff member in the school. We will be celebrating our school’s 110th anniversary.

The King Edward Prep string ensemble have done so well this year. They have achieved accolades on stage and in individual exams. We are blessed to have an accomplished violinist, Raphael Cohen, tutoring our boys.
Our pianists and vocalists, under the guidance of our talented Mr Kotze, have done incredibly well in the Eisteddfods this year.
Our Marimba Band has grown from strength to strength. Our very special world-renown coach, Hastings Nyirenda, has made such an impact on our boys. We participated in the International Steelpan and Marimba Festival this year and we did ourselves proud. Collaboration with the High School will ensure the combination of our existing talent, the newer talent and an incredible coach will surely pave the way to making King Edward School a serious contender in the festival in years to come. Thanks to Mrs Mania, Mrs Jones and Mr Lovatt for making this happen.
Boys who attend private tuition outside of the school need to be thanked as well. When required, they have given of their time and have committed to represent our school and we celebrate their achievements along with the rest.
Our Winter Soiree, held in June, was a magical evening indeed. The evening was successful because of many factors. Mr Kotze and his fiance, Theresea, created an ambience like no other. They spent hours setting up the Winter Wonderland theme with cheer and passion. The huge variety of performances and the incredible talent of our boys will never be forgotten.
