Mandela Day 2025

Mandela Day 2025 – Living the Spirit of Giving and Ubuntu

On Friday, 25 July, our school proudly celebrated Mandela Day, honouring Madiba’s legacy of kindness, service, and unity. Together, we made a real difference in our community – and had fun doing it!

Our boys rolled up their sleeves and made an incredible 1004 sandwiches, which were donated to  those in need. Our Grade 6s took to the pots and cooked up delicious potjies –served as a special “thank you” lunch for our General Assistants, with the rest delivered to a soup kitchen in Yeoville to help feed the hungry.

Winter warmth was also on our hearts. We collected knitted squares and made beautiful blankets to share with those who need them most in this chilly season. Even our youngest boys and girls in Baby Bears joined in the spirit of giving, handing out thoughtful winter packages to our 24/7 security guards – a gesture of gratitude for their care and protection.

Our educators made sure not to miss a valuable teaching moment, guiding the boys in learning about Madiba’s life, his values, and the significance of Mandela Day.

At KEPS, we value the importance of giving back and teaching our children the true meaning of ubuntu – showing love, care, gratitude, support and compassion for others. A heartfelt thank you to our parents and boys for their generosity in all that they donated, enthusiasm, and giving hearts. You embody the true spirit of Mandela Day, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
