What is this I hear? The sound of hooves clopping against the paving? Clucking, mooing, neighing, and children’s laughter? The Children’s Farm arrived at Baby Bears amidst shrieks of joy and much excitement! The children in the Yellow Class had a front-row seat through their classroom window as the animals were escorted out of the truck and into the school.
Armed with handfuls of carrots and other veggies, our little ones were delighted by the opportunity to feed the goats, sheep, and even a calf. This was the perfect chance for them to live out our value of the week – Be Gentle! – especially when holding the rabbits and baby tortoises. There was even a chicken that wandered around our school playground.
Our Red Class was thrilled to bottle-feed the calf and lamb, and the looks of delight and joy on their faces were priceless!
Each child was offered the chance to ride the very friendly pony. Some were nervous at first, while others were natural cowboys, bravely holding the reins.
Our hearts were full as the animals were loaded back into their red truck, and we can’t wait to see who visits the school next!
One of our Grade RR learners eagerly asked their teacher which animals would be coming to school next. With our theme for this week being Wild Animals, this could be a very interesting visit!
